Offline Simulator
Platform for PC-based offline simulation
Highlights
  • Offline simulation using virtual ECU technology
  • Simulation of CAN bus communication
  • Integration and simulation of Simulink models
  • Software-in-the-loop (SIL) and processor-in-the-loop (PIL) simulation
Application Areas
dSPACE VEOS is the platform for PC-based offline simulation. It lets you verify and test the behavior of your ECU (electronic control unit) software at an early development stage, when finding and correcting implementation faults is relatively easy. You can also simulate and verify Simulink function and plant models.

Key Benefits
Using dSPACE VEOS, the only hardware you need for simulation is your PC. You can simulate the behavior of virtual ECUs (V-ECUs) from dSPACE SystemDesk® together with function or plant models from Simulink®. The VEOS is deeply integrated in the dSPACE tool chain to give you numerous access options to other dSPACE tools (including ControlDesk® Next Generation for instrumentation and measurement.

Why Offline Simulation?
Most ECU functions are developed by different development teams or even different suppliers. Even if these functions work correctly in themselves, problems can occur in the system’s overall behavior. To save time and costs, such errors should be found as early as possible. The solution is to simulate the system’s behavior on your PC. To verify that your system behaves correctly in critical situations, you can also insert errors deliberately. You can use offline simulation in any phase of the development process.
